This one was not straightforward. The exterior wall was already loaded with conduit runs, which left very little room to work with. When you're adding major components to a setup like that, every inch of routing has to be thought through carefully - there's no room for improvisation.
Here's what we tackled: a new automatic generator transfer switch, a full meter can replacement, and converting the overhead garage feeder over to underground conduit. Each of those jobs on its own is a solid day's work. Doing all three at once, on a wall that's already packed tight, is where experience really shows.
The generator transfer switch is a Generac unit, and getting it placed correctly meant routing new conduit around everything that was already there. The underground conversion on the garage feeder was probably the biggest win for the homeowner long-term - overhead feeders are exposed to weather, branches, and wear over time. Burying that run protects it and cleans up the exterior in the process.
Tight spaces and complex service reworks are exactly the kind of work we take on. Whether it's an electrical panel upgrade, a new meter can, or adding generator capability to an existing setup, the goal is always the same - get it done right, no shortcuts, no guesswork.
If you've got an older home with an exterior that's been added to over the years, there's a good chance the service side of things could use some attention. This Auburn job is a solid example of what a clean, well-planned rework looks like even when the starting conditions aren't ideal.
